Jessi dies which leads to Simon leaving and Markus feeling guilty. He feels adrift and decides to join a Himalaya expedition with an open end. Of course, he doesn't join it in the end because the team's his family and he can't leave... urgh. Why not join the expedition, get some distance and come back? Why does it always have to be either-or?
Katharina's happy with her doctor, they talk about having a family of their own - still, it appears as though she's still hung up about Markus if her snide remarks and looks are hinting at anything.
Tobi's back - which is pretty much the only good thing about this season.
And Verena leaves for Melbourne, never to be spoken about again - interestingly, she and Michael're still married as far as I know... but no one's talking about that, either. That illustrates that either-or, black-and-white picture the writers like to paint.

Honestly, pretty boring season.
