Back to the symbiote, this time nabbing Megabyte. This was a pretty generic third act action sequence that didn't do much for me. The moments where Bob is helping Hex were a highlight, including the reveal that she and Megabyte are siblings, but the heightened stakes of the Big Bad lacked any real flavor. Mouse's reappearance was a welcome bit of Han Solo-ing from her, but it all just struck me as the standard last act of a superhero film, where the heroes struggle against the new scary guy in a perfunctory manner for a while, before banding together and figuring out how to defeat him. I know that could apply to a lot of well-done works as well, but despite the occasional fun costume change, that trope felt pretty paint-by-numbers in its execution in this episode.
