This reminded me a lot of The Wish episode from Buffy. It was one of the show's better outings and an interesting take on what would happen if the sprites gave into Megabyte. There was a lot of darkness for a kids' show, both literally and figuratively, and I could easily imagine being spooked by this as a kid, but it showed what was at stake with the various goings on in Mainframe. A fine capper to a first season where the episodes generally improved from the beginning to the end.
