Again, great show but last episode make no sense, bad guy full of money cant he get the best ex military? Top show to the point.
Don't believe Jack Reacher's countdown!
Why did he keep saying "I need a gun"? He's a white man in Georgia... he can walk into a preschool and get one no questions asked.
Season 1 was very good although they had some cheesy one liners that did make me laugh. more accurate to what I've read in the book so far to what other movie and tv show adaptations i've watched have with their respective books and I enjoyed that a lot. Definitely recommend this to any jack reacher fan
Well. I could almost not stop watching. Really great. Glad they began the series with the first book and it follows it quite well from what I can remember.
Ritchson is great as the titular character and I really liked Fitzgerald as Roscoe.
Overall the cast is good but I don’t think Webster measured up to the task.
Looking forward to a second season.
This series is seriously superb. The chemistry between the main characters is superb and I am totally in love with Willa Fitzgerald her character. Great action series. Not too woke either, refreshing.
When compared to the film version, the serial version of Jack Reacher emphasizes the investigative side more than the action. Even so, once the action appears, you're guaranteed to like it. Reacher character here is also lovable despite having a well-built muscular stature.

First and foremost, I want to say that this first season was pretty decent. While I feel like its entertainment value/enjoyment started dwindling towards the end, the beginning was quite enjoyable to watch; even towards the end, there was still enjoyment to be had. Mainly because of the "good guys" characters. Reacher, Finlay, Roscoe, and Neagley, and because there was the entire season to grow accustomed to them.
That brings me to the storyline. I thought it was underwhelming. To me, it seemed like the writers were going for this suspenseful, tense intrigue of a tone, at least in the beginning, as the characters are introduced and established, the storyline built up. Yet that hardly was the case for me. And the storyline seemed to almost backfire on itself as the pieces started to fall in place. Even though I never felt the suspense and tense atmosphere a lot of people seemed to, the atmosphere that seemed to be there in the beginning, I feel like this first season was better in the beginning, as far as where the storyline was.
To delve further into that: the antagonists. They were, so to speak, "massively" underwhelming. There seemed like there was going to be a bigger bad, or at least that person should've been the bigger bad, yet that aspect isn't relevant at all. I'm referring to the client in Venezuela: Mr. Kliner's client, and presumably the boss of all the Venezuelans involved in the operation. But this show is based on a novel series; this first season on one of them. So, that's more on the writing of that, the writing of Lee Child. But it's not THAT big of a deal.
A few aspects that were worth noting:
The score. Tony Morales did a good job composing it. "Only" two stood out to me. 'Reacher Preps' and 'Reacher vs. Dawson.' Both were in the same episode: Episode 7. I liked 'Reacher Preps' the most. It set the mood well and conveyed the looming, unavoidable demise about to strike.
The fight sequences. There weren't many; I don't quite remember. But they were still worth noting. The two in the premiere, the one in the fifth episode, and lastly, the one at the end of the sixth episode, were the best ones. Of course, there's room for improvement. I hope the novel the second season will be focused on will allow for that to be the case and that the fight director/choreographer will improve the fight sequences and their choreography.
The comedic moments. I feel like those moments were among the best parts about this first season. The banter between Reacher and Finlay was great. I wholeheartedly hope that, in the second season, there will be a character similar to Finlay for likewise banter.
I think the characters brought this first season to a higher level; certain characters, anyway. I've already mentioned them. If it weren't for them, I'd probably give a rating of six out of ten to this season. But first seasons are usually a bit "rough," right? I'm sure there are plenty of examples of first seasons that aren't, and they don't "have" to be rough. This first season somewhat was. The second season should be significantly better, so I'm looking forward to watching it.
