Well, Jessica did know about Martin's activities. But to what extent was she involved? That's the question. I think the whole family has psychopathic/sociopath tendencies, but Martin is the only one known to us, so far, that has gone the extra mile. But I do think Jessica might be the worst one. There's just something off about her. Like she's completely different than the way she's been portraying herself thus far.

I think Martin should be in 9/10ths of the show. Not the silver tongued son. (I.e. annoyingly, self-consciously clever). Flip it.
The sister reminds me of Charlotte from Revenge.

This show is not written, acted and casted well.

I had to bow out of Scandal after a season and half; the relentless cynicism of its twisty-turny schtick just became too much for me. I did miss watching Bellamy Young work on the regular, though, so I'm happy she seems to be a big part of this show. Jessica Whitly is pretty much the same role she played as the first lady on Scandal, but it doesn't matter when she does it so well. Playing a character whose personality is inherently mannered is a big challenge, and Young can seem like she's laying it on a bit thick at times. Watch for the moments where Jessica's carefully maintained, New York royalty persona slips, though, and you can tell that this is a much more nuanced performance than its campy surface charms might suggest.

I'm not convinced this show will ever live up to the quality of its performances and excellent visual style, but it certainly is a fun and compelling ride, and I don't really need it to be more than that.
