A Star Wars parody from Phineas and Ferb seemed almost inevitable, so it's no shock that we actually got one. But the real surprise was how good it is actually is - "Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars" might be one of the best, if not the best, Star Wars parodies out there. Instead of simply retelling the story, this one takes the unique route of doing a parallel story within the universe, allowing for it's characters to not be fully defined by being parodies of themselves. As such, it's not only a fantastic Phineas and Ferb story with all of the beats you would expect, but also a fantastic Star Wars story, one with the same grand narrative you would expect from the saga.
It's also hilarious! One of the funniest episodes of the show's run by far - at 52 minutes, the episode uses it's longer then standard runtime to completely annihilate the franchise's conventions while also paying homage to it in a variety of forms. References aren't limited to the original trilogy, instead spanning everywhere from the prequels (no sequel references, though this is due to it's release date), video games, and even the old books. It's emotional beats also work as well, particularly with an inspired AU version of Isabella that is a drastic departure from her normal persona. This is a fantastic episode, and an all timer for the show.
