This episode pretty much ditches the formula, which seems to be happening more and more often, and honestly this episode in particular is much better off for it. What a fantastic character driven episode! It's pretty much focused on Vanessa and Monty, who are a delight together and the episode is filled with great beats not just between them but also the rest of the cast - Isabella in particular gets a funny running gag.
Doof's plot is fantastic as well, and the castle itself is a great new environment for the show. The song they play at the dance is a remix of classic songs from the show, and genuinely feels like something you would play at a dance party like this. This is just a really fantastic episode and a great fun time.
