It is funny seeing Phil Lewis in Phineas and Ferb basically playing the character he did in Suite Life of Zack and Cody, although it's definitely one of those "in jokes" that unless you actively watched the Disney Channel during this time you just wouldn't get. That being said, the new setting does a lot to aid in this even if the main story doesn't have too much - though it is wonderfully laid back.
The Doof plot is much better, and has a really funny invention that lends itself to some really great and clever physical comedy. It's also the only two parter of the series structured like this which means it's worth checking out for that reason alone.
