I wish this episode was a little wackier and a little zanier, but it's short runtime compared to other episodes (clocking in at just 9:30 minutes) allows this to be a breezy, relaxing episode. It's also nice to see an episode where Candace isn't trying to bust the brothers - instead it focuses on the mother and daughter relationship which is a great change of pace.
The Doofenshmirtz plot is also oddly underplayed - in a lot of ways this feels like a Season 1 episode, just with the confidence of a Season 2 episode. This means it's still really great, but lacks the same consistently funny jokes that Season 2 has. Still though, Phineas and Ferb's high level of consistently quality means this episode is still very good.
