The main gimmick here is the game itself, which allows the show to start experimenting with different styles of animation and backgrounds. Most of the episode is in said digital realm and the colours just simply pop, and the music is techno to go along with it as well as a catchy musical number, something the show is becoming increasingly adept at.
It's not as inventive as prior episodes, yes, but it doesn't need to be. Phineas and Ferb even at it's most basic is better then pretty much every other cartoon out there thanks to it's clever writing and rich characters, and this episode is no exception.
