Esme's father telling Alfred that if she loves him it's because she loves the animal inside him sort of came out of nowhere. At least they reconciled with each other near the end of the episode.
Alfred is climbing up the ladder very fast. It may come back to bite him making deals with everybody. I could do without the back and forth romance, though.
Soundtrack is amazing.
I'm so late. During this current pandemic, I began watching this show. I was skeptical for 2 reasons: 1) I didn't think an origin story for Alfred Pennyworth would be interesting. 2) The showrunner from "Gotham" was attached. I have to say though that I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes so far. The actor Jack Bannon's portrayal of Alfred reminds me of Michael Caine portrayal of the character from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy. I can definitely see Bannon's Alfred as the younger version of Caine's. I don't know if was intentional, but he even sounds like Michael Cain.
Why in earth did they let that fella out. He's a bit disfigured, no nose and a foot missing? Should have executed him.

There was supposed to be an ambush waiting down the road from the warehouse and the landing strip. But the explosion of the truck and the circling and landing of the airplane apparently wasn’t enough commotion to draw them back.
