The pace and tension is maintained straight through into season 4.
The nephew is ruthless. Killed the sheriff and drove his cop car to their house with him in the trunk.
Well that was a pretty reckless move to just shoot out the sheriff. I am not sure if Javier did it because he is simply just removing one obstacle and in the end this will be the Byrds' problem OR he is purposely trying to sabotage his uncle's operation somehow...
Best show on TV right now.
Great first episode. Very dark and menacing without anyone yelling or overtly doing things. Everyone is kind of calm which makes it even more menacing and evil. They have gone a path that there is no return. You go one step at a time into a path and then it's too late. This shouldn't have a "happy" ending. It should be even more tragic than Breaking Bad.
Another addition to the "irritating TV kids" Hall of Fame. The whole show looks so beautiful though.
And we are off….
Bring it …..
great start. damn! the kids have grown up.
Before the suit on the bed came into focus and we could clearly see what it was, I thought it was the bodies of both their kids with covers over them. Especially because they showed this scene right after the car crash.
I’m not sure if it was done on purpose, but if it was then that was genius cinematography.
It made me so happy seeing that family moment between ruth, wyatt and the other kid, they deserve it!!!
And Wendy is just awful, like marty is also an awful parent cause he’s just passive and doesn’t give a fck about his kids, but wendy is just… no words
One of the best shows I’ve ever watched to the end, in almost 20 years of binging.
I thought it was slow-paced. My expectations were too high which is why I didn't like it that much. Loved all the previous seasons but this opening made me wonder if this season is going to be great too. It hasn't triggered my urge to watch episode 2 either.
So we're really starting season 4 with more infighting.
Strong opening for a season finale.
Predictions:
1. At the end of this story Ruth will be the winner and be the biggest drug lord in the area
2. The Byrde family will be dysfunctional at the end where the kids will go down their separate ways and have bad blood to each other (destroying the bond they have as siblings).
3. One or both parents will die
4. Jonah will be the downfall of the family.
other things I don't care about:
Wyatt and the old woman will be killed by the cartel and also the cartel will die and some will be caught by the FBI.
I mean despite forgetting who Ben was for half the episode the show has undeniable tension, polish, sharp writing and solid performances
Not sure if I’m rooting for anyone at all anymore but I’m keen to see the story play out and not just see the plot points resolve
wow this show so boring now lol...
71 I Some new characters in this season bring more spice into Byrdes' life. Every time Wendy and Marty promise their kids things going to be fine, instead it turns to the opposite. Jonah made up his mind, he is more mature and committed. He made a good point about protecting the family. Sometimes his parents forgot who is their family. At this point, Byrdes should team up with Darlene, KC Mob, and the FBI to put Navarro down. They are being chicken for too long.

I see they're doubling down on Wendy being a bitch early on.
