Look, let's cut to the chase here. This series was good, not fantastic just good. Take away Jason Bateman and put some lesser known actor in his place and it would have been mediocre at best.
It took me about 3 or 4 episodes before I got over his comedic background in Arrested Development, even then I thought some of his acting was very similar, the lingering looks and starring for one.
Some of the episodes were rather disjointed and did not flow well, some of the cinematography was ok but not outstanding. Much better in shows like Fargo, BCS, Quarry etc.
The last episode was good but I think they tried to cram too much in to it without giving any of it the time it deserved.
Ok, they left a few unanswered questions but I'd like to have seen a more complete end to it.
I'm sure it will get a second series, the Netflix hype train will take care of that. Had it been a TV release only, not sure of that.

Just when Marty had everything worked out, Boom headshoot! Never call a redneck "a redneck" to her face. It will be interesting to see what the cartel does next. They don't mind removing a couple toe nails. I'm sure we will find out in a second season.

Jason Bateman's facial expressions are a thing of beauty. Some of the finest face acting on Netflix.

It is kind of incredible how much of a difference direction makes in this series, which means I can only figure that the writing here could really use some work. For as much good stuff as we have in this episode, there's more insidious faults that lay underneath. It makes for a difficult time judging this episode on its own because as it's wrapping up I can only remember the absolute slog the middle of this season is. And not even as though the middle was a series of plants that are paid off either--the developments are just series of events that lead up to a finale. And although that finale is pretty good, it's still kind of difficult to forget the swap that is the journey to get there.

Even still, Jason Bateman is a hell of a director

Woow awesome season. I feel the same when I was watching The Sopranos or Breaking Bad.

Well, this was intense. I don't know what to expect afterwards.

64 | This was the longest episode that Ozark had so far. Glad to know that Jason Bateman directed it. Marty Bryde's problem just never stops bothering him until the end. Many people around him either left him or felt destroyed. Whenever normal people see the other side of the world, the dark side, they just could not handle it. They always hope that the world is a good place to live. But the truth is there always will be a constant battle of good and bad until humans extinct. The newborn is hope for a better world.
