Ouran High School Host Club 2006

This is probably one of the funniest and most heartfelt animes out there. This is a great reverse harem show and you literally fall in love with almost every single character. They start out as your basic stereotypes but everyone has an amazing backstory that is expanded upon. Also, Haruhi is the best.

Honestly it was a little boring. It was a Shoujo but there were only one or two little romantic hugs, and that's all. The beginning was the worst but it gradually became a little interesting although most of the anime felt like the same thing watching again and again.
The last two episodes were the best parts but then the show ended.
There were sarcastic comedy scenes which were the best thing in this show. The worst part was that in spite of being a Shoujo it was unrealistic.

Very goofy and fluffy, with heartfelt characters and scenarios.

Great if you're in the mood for a wacky-woohoo (ie extra and campy) sort of comedy that makes you feel good. Somehow it's better on repeat watches!

On first watch, the first few episodes felt a bit rough because I wasn't sold on the tropes and concept, but it picked up and became surprisingly heartfelt. It felt like it ended when it was just finding its groove!

The first few episodes were a bit weird, but I imagine they just needed to get some attention on the show, because after them it got better. Similarily the characters, while seemingly boring, but after developing relationships etc. with eachother they became likeable, even kinda interesing. The plot is not super engaging, it's just not that memorable - the last 2 or so episodes definitely carry the series in that sense. But for me the characters and their relations were what compelled me to watch the show, so a complex plot was not needed. It's nothing ground-breaking, but I enjoyed myself quite a bit!

This anime is a classic of it's era. I first saw Ouran more than a decade ago as a young kid and, in immediate hindsight, oh, god, why, but re-watching it as an adult has brought me so much insight. OHSHC is off-the-wall goofy, and at least for the first fourth or third of the show, questionably creepy. Follow through this series and you'll understand why each character is the way they are and how they are self-aware of their taboos, how they all are just a genuine band of friends trying to make the world a better place and the people they encounter happy. ...Not to say that this anime is that deep, although the lessons can be wholesome. It's a cute one if you let it be. You will fall in love with all of the characters, they're all extremely memorable.
