NOS4A2 2019

A terrible convoluted story line and pisspoor casting choices make this show watchable at best , certainly not very likable . The story mixes too many different psychic and supernatural elements to the point that it comes off as comical . The characters are rife with cliche and they try to tick every social justice issue . I can only hope the book was not as bad .
Casting is not all bad , but I would describe it as extremely hit and miss . Vic and her mother are only like 10 years different in real age and look like sisters . The accents of the locals in this New England town , and especially Vic's family , are all over the place . From full Boston accent to nothing . I can't complain about Zachary Quinto though , I've always thought he was creepy and colorless as an actor so he's quite good as a vampire .
The cinematography seems very well done . A+ for that .

As much as I usually adore Zachary Quinto, even he can't save this show. I am quite sure that the story could be intriguing and adapted into the screen in a great way, but this show feels very much like a student movie for a class in school.

The premise is good and could have taken us to a lot of cool stuff... Instead were dealing with drunks, addicts, teen angst and daddy-issues most of the time.
I understand it has to be there but it could have been done a bit more in the background. The looming sense of dread, the shadow in the doorway rather than bad-dad-trope-galore.

This show is bad and boring. Some good acting interspersed with plenty of bad acting. All of which, unfortunately, lives within a really bad script.

even with 20 episodes total, only equaling 15 hours, there is too much filler and unnecessary slow-pacing to make this show as interesting as it should be - it could easily be half as many episodes over two seasons and tell me just as much.
most of my viewing was waiting for something to happen, feeling like it was building up to something happening, and nothing of importance/significance actually happening, repeat.

I‘m not sure what I was expecting. And I didn’t read the book. But the show is really quite boring. Nothing really happening most of the time. All of it would have fitted quite well in two episodes.

Its such a great premise for a story … Loved the book and the show is doing it some justice.
Not as creepy and suspenseful as it could be, but all in all, the show really brought the book to life
I would not have cast Quinto as Manx though … but he is doing a decent job

Too much angst... not enough horror.

An interesting premise in search of some good writing.

In today's world no children story is complete without cunnilingus.

The show is well crafted. The actors are on point. The story and camera work fit well into the horror genre.

so.... For some reason, in Australia, All 10 episodes can be watched on Amazon Prime. All I can say is this show suits binge watching. It's a little too slow at the beginning. Episodes 3-8 are very good. So stick with it guys!

I'm not sure if it should have been a show to be binged. Some plotlines would have benefited greatly from a little prolonged suspense (and, I dunno, maybe it was planned with that in mind?), which doesn't really happen if you can just watch the next episode right away...

Other than that, it's an interesting, dark show. Very dark at times.
