And again, i was reminded that no matter of my reason to watch this show or my interest in the characters, this show still moves me in their partrayal of big issues. What I also love is that some heavy stuff isnt always resolved like eg. in Greys Anatomy making the doctors a fantasy heroes. Sth like here just shows you there is a problem that not anyone, or maybe noone, could change. But it still shows you that, it informs, for you to be able to see it as a problem in the future and maybe you'll be able to help someone. Its making me sound naive but more than that im hopeful, bc many ppl just need to be shown of some problems others can have that we couldnt even imagine.
That was more like it regarding the case.I hope that this one girl at least can be saved, even if the adults (the mother?!?!?) around her won't face any repercussions. But honestly, child wedding aside, isn't there some kind of minimum age where adults can sleep with girls? And shouldn't that apply even in marriages? So, shouldn't it be possible to get the "husband" (I'd call him pedophile) for that alone?
But the whole personal stuff remains messy and ill-thought through: I mean, Reynolds tells his father he is bipolar and everything he did can be explained away by that diagnosis... first of all, a second hand diagnosis without his father ever having seen a doctor? And given the man's personality, did he really expect any other reaction than he got?
Then there's Lauren... WTF, take your appartment back, throw out Leyla who's living there on your dime, and be done with it. Lauren should realize very fast that, while she should have talked to Leyla about getting her this residency, she didn't do so much wrong that Leyla can sort dictate her whole life and take it over more or less.
And please, don't tell me that Max/Wilder's the new intended pairing.

Wow, that was heavy. It's a shame this show is ending.
