A much better episode compared to the season premiere. The origin story for Gibbs/Ducky was well done. Even 40 years ago they were able to nudge each other in the right direction with life choices when Gibbs leads Ducky down the ME career path and Ducky was able to convince Leroy to not give up on the love of his life.
The crime part of the episode is still not strong. Without the ties to the forty years old case the entire current break-in at NCIS would have been completely lame.
It was the best episode we got for a looooooooong time. We finally know about those things that link Gibbs and Ducky as well as why the boats.
And the second episode is flashback hell. Did the fire all the decent writers?

Love the flash-back scenes type episodes of them all when they were young. This episode didn't disappoint.
