I don't see a compelling lead like Félix/Diego Luna.
Good. I like this Mexican vibe. You can feel the hot.
I hope the story won't get boring since drug dealer stories seem pretty repetitive (a clever and scrupulous guy, aspiring for ever more money, building an empire, buying friends, fighting enemies, getting entangled in a fragile web of alliances, loosing his family, his fake friends, his fortune, their empire and then his life or freedom). I guess none of these Mexicans will ever reach the same level of entertaining craziness that Pablo Escobar was famous for - but Narcos Mexico is still a solid and beautifully produced spin-off.
The season premiere is centered on three characters:
1. Amado Carrillo Fuentes - his scenes are the best part of this episode. I like the contrast to his character – first he is grieving over his dead daughter, but then the second he decided what he wanted, he killed Aguilar with no hesitation. No one says 'cabron' or 'chinga' better than José María Yázpik.
2. Noble DEA agents - 3 seasons in and I still don’t care about anything Walt Breslin is talking about. So much screen time is wasted on the Americans. Now, I know it’s a show made by the Yanks for the Yanks, but for me their scenes are a total snooze fest. I was hoping Walt will not be back this season I find his vendetta against drug lords because his brother overdosed simplistically childish and dumb.
3. The femicides in Ciudad Juárez, México - hundreds of women killed or disappeared there, and it seems to me this is going to be the most difficult historical subject the show has tackled.
Wait what ? "El Profesor" ? Did I mix-up my shows ?
Who told Bad Bunny he can act. He Ruin everything….
Off to a great start. Definitely interested to see where this season goes. I do miss Felix already though.
And…
We…
Are…..
Off….
Great start for the season
