• One simply cannot skip the Narcos intro. That theme song is just amazing.

  • Pacho Herrera insulting Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo on his birthday in his own home was the best scene in this episode. Second best was the end – Miguel looking at the chained tiger, great metaphor for him feeling chained as well, he in a tricky position now, no one around him that he can trust.

  • I don’t like the new DEA agent/narrator, he is just not as good as Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal. Also, I really can’t sympathize with the Americans because Kiki Camarena was definitely one of most annoying characters I’ve seen on any show, which is crazy considering he is the hero of this story in real life. Also, they don’t need to mention in almost every scene that the Americans are there only to avenge the dead American DEA agent, talk about tribalism.

  • The scene with Agent Walt, his crew and the innocent civilian could be intense only if you believe the Americans can be portrayed as bad, but there is no way they show them killing some random witness.

Nice season opener. Birthday party full of potential traitors. Pancho Herrera setting Félix straight was a very nicely shot scene. DEA hit on the torturer gone awry was a tense situation.
