if you enjoy pedophile content go ahead. it is totally irrelevant if the anime is good overall. I stopped watching in the middle. And from what i've heard the worst was yet to come.If you want good Anime without pedo content there is only one way. Dont watch that and praise it afterwards. 0/10.
It's okay. 7/10, as it's interesting for a first episode. Not revolutionary, very "Artistic Light Novel" in the variety of artist detail, but also convenient world building, if a bit risque / adult. Not as terrible as it could have been, given the 50+ Isekai's a year, with standouts like Log Horizon / SAO etc.
I can't tell if the show is generic or has potential for an 8/10 story or character development(s), or if it falls hard into Isekai trope/cliche's, as Seasonal Anime trends towards boosting the quality of the first 2-3 episodes as review scores affect viewers & marketing numbers.
Isekai as a mid-budget seasonal show tend to be weak on characters and story, and often fall apart within 3-4 eps, but IMO Jobless is worth checking out if only for the art style, slightly reminiscent of Grimgar and Black Clover, and they didn't really change the formula, it's Adventurers with Magic, but at least it's not Orphans, Magic School. Slime/Spider/Vending Machine reincarnations, or Adventure Harem (yet).
It's probably going to be Adventure Harem with a strong art direction. Which is a good niche to fill, IMO that's not as sedentary as Grimgar or as ridiculous as Arifureta / In Another World with my Smartphone / Cautious Hero, etc. It's probably somewhere in the middle given the 'realism' setting.
After the character turns 5-6, there's actual character depth for a "reborn 40-year-old NEET", this may be obscured once he grows into a ~50 year old teenager with issues, YMMV. Truck-Kun made an appearance, so you know it's going to be on the edge of parody that isekai's often teeter over, or just jump right into the fantasy without looking back to see if people have followed along.
It is going to be a challenge to see where the weak point is - the Art budget, the characters, the story depth, or the Arc / Premise, since they haven't really developed the background. Direction seems to follow LN convention, so hopefully the characters aren't dull.
Until they finally get that vending machine Isekai Anime happening, it's a little better than the January 2021 season alternative "So i'm a Spider, So What?" IMO, both shows could excel. Time will tell if "Jobless" or "Kumo" will improve or settle into mediocrity.
The first season was amazing, but the second season was a huge disappointment. Did the writers lose their minds when they wrote it? This second season does not deserve any rating at all.
This anime isn't for everyone.
I took a point off because there are some definite cringe moments of the first season that are hard to watch. The main character is a hardcore perv, made worse by the age factors that play into it, and the fact he's a 30 something year old virgin in the body of a young boy.
But aside from that, everything about this anime is top notch.
The anime is good, but the protagonist is too depraved :/
The title can change to "Enjoy Child Molestation After Tensei" now.
This is THE anime that we've all been waiting and yearning for. Many of us hardcore Mushoku Tensei fans have been waiting years upon years for an anime adaptation to finally hit, and HIT it has. I was a little skeptical with a brand new studio undertaking this, but all the previews had looked great so I was cautiously optimistic. The source material is my absolute favorite isekai series (which says a lot) and the light/web novel will always hold a special place in my fandom. So how were the first two episodes so far (first has aired officially and the first two were previewed beforehand)?
AMAZING. I really don't know if it's just because the source material is that good, but this has been a SPOT ON adaptation so far. Right when I heard "Gintoki" as the NEET narrator, I knew shit was gonna be good. The sense of humor and pervertedness of Rudy is really well incorporated throughout the first two episodes, and makes this more than just a "another OP isekai". But even with that sense of humor, the anime has taken great depths to give solid (but not overwhelming) background info on the characters and highlighting particularly serious moments. This was especially evident in the second episode where the handling of Rudy's "fall into NEETness" and past trauma was interweaved perfectly into his current situation and setting.
I can't wait for the rest of the anime to air. It seems that a second cour has already been green-lighted so let's hope this can turn into one of those long-running anime series. If they can make it to the school arcs, I'll have lived a complete life...
I honestly find all the romantic/ecchi scenes disgusting quite frankly. They should just give up on that bullshit, the MC is like 37 years old or something, like.. comon bruh..
Although that bothers the shit out of me, I still find the story, the fight scenes and the scenery very enjoyable.
Would I recommend it? yup
When a 37 years old say "She's 13 now, and got some shape"... :face_vomiting:. This show is not even great, I started to watch the 2nd part and I can't even remember the 1st part and who is who...
This show was highly overrated.
Honestly, It started off as a great show with a slow paced theme but that slow pacing was kept maintained to the end and all "Rudeus" did was roam around the world facing different problems. Way to generic! For this type of show a little more spotlight to the main character would've been a better choice. Well, it was my fault for having high expectations, but still.
Best part of the entire show was the soundtrack that got completely blended with the theme which ultimately raised the "Isekai-Travel" vibe of this show.
I'm hoping for another season since this wasn't a bad anime overall.
This is the best Isekai I've seen so far!
Every episode has an impact, every episode (especially the last 4) makes me feel a lot of emotions, I can really see myself in Rudeus personality.
It's been a long time since I felt something like this in an anime (last time was with Re:Zero).
If we omit that it's an isekai, the story is not cliché and is really intriguing.
And of course, the beautiful music adds even more impact to the whole.
It's really well animated and it's really beautiful.
"Mushoku Tensei" is called the father of all isekai anime, and it is not for nothing that it deserves this title.
I can only recommend to watch it!
I must admit that I did not expect much with an anime with the word "Isekai" in its name, it has left me speechless, it has surprised me from the first 5 minutes of starting to watch it.
I'm just going to start the 5th episode, but I can already say that it is one of the best anime of the year and one of the best Isekai that I have seen, it has entered among the best 5 anime in the genre that I have seen. I just hope that it continues as it is and does not lower its quality since at this point my expectations in the same one have grown up, from an anime from which I did not expect anything, it has become one of the animes that I most hope to finish. I'm almost sure they will confirm soon, if not I already have them confirm their second season.
New studio, but everything about the first episode was spectacular. Holy shit if it keeps up the quality, we have a new banger.
Has some really suspicious scenes, but overall it's fine I guess.
7/10 for now.
This has all the makings of an amazing Isekai, the animation in particular is absolutely stunning. However, the MC is a pedophile. People like to talk about his "imperfections" adding to the realism of it or whatever, but it becomes very hard to watch anything when you hate the MC and want him to suffer as much as possible
I just finished episode 17 of season 2 and finally gave up.
Jobless Reincarnation started strong, above all with an overpowered main and other characters I really cared about. I couldn't get enough, and wanted to see how everyone and everything develops. And then, of course, there were various climaxes and twists in the story that raised fundamental and gripping questions about the universe of the series and magic itself. And I wanted to see what they do with these topics. But then, the makers of this show decided with season 2 to go down another route. And just like this, Jobless Reincarnation developed from an action packed isekai adventure with foreign countries, magic and mysteries into a coming of age story with lots of feelings. Don't get me wrong. If you're into this kind of anime, it might just be your thing. But that's not the series I started with season 1 back then.
And this one's obviously not for me. Unfortunately, because I would have liked to know more about some of the themes that season 1 started and never resolved to my satisfaction, until now.
It is one of the better isekai out there. The plot isn't awful and the character isn't OP to the point of being untouchable. The character has actual problems that can't be solved with a fake chad attitude and one hit kills.
Once you get past those initial cringe moments it's hard not to fall in love with the show.
The personal growth of the MC wouldn't be so impressive if the soul had started out pure and perfect.
If you set aside modern, western values and keep in mind that the fantasy land is operating on values more in keeping the feudal eras then the youth of the characters isn't such a big deal.
A lot of people are harshing on the MCs past life and the fact that the soul retains all the memories of the past life as an adult. But he is reborn a child in a new life. In his past life he was an abused, traumatized shut in but in that life there are zero indications of pedophilia - If I recall properly he was a virgin. So the pedo accusations stem from the new life retaining the old memories.
His perviness in the first part of season 1 definitely hits some cringe moments but major changes for the better start happening after that.
I read some people were off put by the "ecchi"; there are plenty of bare backsides but all front shots are Austin Powered. There are even way less cleavage shots than most anime I've watched. And it's not like pervy characters are a new thing - just look at master roshi from Dragonball for heavens sake.
If you can get past the first few episodes this turns into a really great story.
Ah yes, let's give this 37yo pedo a chance to reincarnate into a kid to have access to a bunch of other kids. I wonder what will happen. Sigh
Watched the first 11 episodes.
Another Isekai (humans gets reborn in another world), what's up with all of them suddenly?).
This time, the person is the definition of what people would consider a IRL looser: No job, no life, not having worked for twenty years.
He is also an utter pervert. Of course he is. We knew this would be the case.
While he is in the body of toddler and infant, he is still that pervert. Which is troublesome, given that he doesn't drop that attitude towards girls that are like 11 years old. Like... what?
Also, expected, he sees women mostly as objects for his lust. He is, and I am not kidding, even talking about that "the breasts of that 11 year old will grow if he works on them".
Given all of the above, you really wonder what kind of persons they are targeting with these tropes. Who are they aiming for!? It even somehow suggests that it is okay to be a perverted, misogynistic sexual harasser (It is not, and if anyone does this even remotely in Real Life they will get into huge trouble)...
This is roughly the same crap that has ruined other animes for me as well, or least made them much worse (The Seven Deadly Sins, No Game No Life).
I subtracted 2 points flat merely for these issues. Heck, given that stuff I am not even sure I can recommend this to anyone.
I think the story overall would be okay, but...spoilers ahead:
The whole arc starting from episode 8 is just so hyper stupid. Like suddenly, without much of story-buildup, the whole anime changes: From the kinda slice-of-life pervert story we suddenly switch into a brutal gore kind-of story where people get brutally salin, including teens or children. Like...wtf and how did this even happen?
That was such a turn of events that just didn't feel consistent to me at all.
The graphics are okay, and I think the voice acting very good.
This felt like a really solid Isekai Anime! There was quite a bit of the standard pervy-tropes, but the scenes in this one felt more comical than some of the others I've seen that dove headfirst into Harem-land. (Although I am slightly concerned for the fact that there are clear romances between children here. The only defense I can think of is that age seems to be very different from appearances and that age/mental maturity isn't standard either.)
The fantasy world building here is quite fantastic and the characters you meet have distinct personalities and stories to them. The animation quality is decent enough, and the music is thematic. Overall, I'm excited to see where this one goes.
The first season should have 23 episodes, but for "strategy" they decided to release only 11, so it feels like it advances slowly for 11 episodes, the end has no feeling of the end of the season, it feels like any episode and it is as it should be, because it was planned with 23.
Perhaps due to pressure from the production company as it is a newly acquired studio and seeing immediate income, this studio is not new, it was simply the union of a studio with the production company but now with another name.
The fourth blu-ray has a release date of October 2021, that blu-ray contains the episode 12, which will be the second season or the second part, therefore the second season should come out before that blu-ray, as long as it is not delayed again.

The ecchi stuff really puts me off this one. It's a bit much, especially considers the actual age of the characters. Without it this would be amazing.
