1x01 Pilot

I read the chilling beginning of the book. The beginning of this show is very faithful. I unfortunately didn't get too far in the book before the show came out.
But unlike Dark Tower, this is at least faithful to the book and wasn't hacked down to PG-13. Sad that the late Anton Yelchin was oddly attached to play the part of the villain Brady who runs down people. Which to me makes his death more horrible.
Brady though, singing "I don't want to be buried in the Pet Cemetery!"....perfect! Nice shout out to King and Pet Cemetery. His incest relationship with his mom, might also bring back Sleep Walkers flashbacks. That is if you want Sleepwalkers flashbacks lol.
Either way Brendan Gleeson is fantastic casting as the retired detective who's taunted by Brady. Harry Treadaway is also fine casting as Brady. I just pictured Yelchin though while reading the book. Not sure if he would have been better or not. Since I don't think he ever played a bad guy.

great beginning episode. I'm looking forward to the rest.

Well Well, just watched the pilot.
Appears to be a shallow script.
After 45 min I have these characters:
- washed out crumpy pensioned cop
- an overconferent female neighbour that wants Dex
- the mom of the killer is an alcoholic that wants sex with her Son
- the Son is a computer nerd/psychopath that jerks of in his man cave and sells icecream to kids

I’m not familiar with the book. This is a superb pilot. Really looking forward to the rest of the series.

cringe (in a bad way). terrible characters w/ a very poor incoherent plot.
