That save yourself and leave me behind cliche was way too predictable.
Finally some titans doing something!
This was the best episode but overall there was a lot of drama that wasn’t needed in the 10 episodes. I hope they improve on this in a second season if there is going to be another one.
I need more. I hope Shaw will pop up in GXD. A few slow episodes but overall a great way to get me to care about the human characters in the monsterverse.
Just plain dumb. Lazy writing, ridiculous dramatic pauses, bad acting and I knew Apple would be too cheap to pay for a certain actor to return. The final moment was the best scene of the season. Such a disappointing show.
Dissatisfied with this show. Lack of monster's and more jumping around different time zones that makes the series difficult to follow. And the ending? What now.? It will be lucky to be renewed.
This show should've been called Monarch : Siblings with Daddy Issues.
The trailer was super misleading . And this was an utter disappointment.
Finally a good episode.
I really hope they just ditch the kids for season 2, and explore "titan-world" a lot more.
Oh and I hope Kurt Russell makes it into one of the movies.
First off, I'm NOT crying, YOU'RE crying! Now as far as the Siblings with Daddy issues gripe, well, yeah, I guess the writers and producers could have created a show with ten episodes of giant monsters smashing up shizz, but, as awesome as that might be for those who prolly consider a peanut butter and jelly sandwich washed down with a Capri Sun pouch a gourmet meal, and, as tasty as that can be on occasion, there are those who at times also savor a nice sizzling carne asada plate washed down a Tecate tall boy with two fingers of Cristalino as a chaser.
The show is called "Monarch LEGACY of Monsters". One definition of a legacy is, "something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past". Yet we've seen so many iterations of the Titan's, that the backstory is a given, a "known known" if you will. So the challenge is, how do you present a "known known" in a way that is fresh, entertaining, and, watchable in a way that won't see your production go the way of uh, say "Firefly", done after one season, in SPITE of the compelling quality of the series.
So yes, there has been a slow boil reveal of each of our main characters stories, which I'm sure the writers hoped would cause the viewers to become invested in the characters, and that means a lot of sometimes lengthy exposition as to the motivations BEHIND the characters actions, why they are the way they are, and act the way they do. Sometimes it's overt, like Cate and Kentaro having "Daddy issues", or it may be more subtle, like the unrequited love young Lee Shaw may have had toward the then married Keiko, or the disdain Tim actually has toward Monarch. Or, how Mother Randa, could pine away for years over her missing husband, (still wearing her wedding ring), and telling him a son needs his Father, right before taking off said ring and telling him to hit the bricks.
So yeah, they waited until the seasons last episode to give us a big Titan battle in the finale, but even in that there were some subtleties that were easily missed. Godzilla upon his emergence, seems to peruse the scene, taking note of May and the Randa clan ensconced in the transport sphere, as well as Lee Shaw trying to reconnect the jumper cables, and rather than putting the monkey stomp on them, chooses to curb stop the Ion Dragon and use IT to open a portal and provide them a path home, albeit sans Lee Shaw. Did you notice that during the trip, the portal was bifurcated, and the sphere exited stage left, but, where did the RIGHT portal lead?
And while it's true that Tim, Kintaro and Hiroshi, may have had to lie down with the dogs at Apex while trying NOT to get fleas, sometimes you gotta' do what you have to do, to get the result you desire, that end being as Dom might opine, the reunification of the family, but then, just when you thought we were going to get a big fat happy ending, Big Poppa Player Pimp number 2 on the Titans greatest hit's depth chart arrives to let them all know just whose house (and island) it REALLY is.
...too be continued (HOPEFULLY) next season. Be there or be square.

The season finale of "Monarch" was really great, I enjoyed it a lot. It balanced drama and action on a blockbuster scale quite well. The final sequence was wonderful; I'm already looking forward to the second season.
The opening music score reminds me of Assassin's Creed Origins in places. Mostly, right at the start.
Yes, season 1 is locked in, done. Over all a drag.
But having said that I need to give Mari Yamamoto the crown for best overall acting performance of the whole season of the whole cast, being exposed with reality and time and talking to a tree. Sincerely excellent acting.
But then the highlight of the season unfortunately came in the last 10sec of the final episode.
If they are going to do a season 2 of this show may I suggest they take inspiration from Godzilla Minus One and to drop the soap opera of the show and maybe show some guts and kill off the three most annoying characters... Brother, sister and girlfriend... especially girlfriend.
How predictable would it be if this series was all bout monsters and having them fight each other.
I respect the way they tried to combine Kong and Godzilla in some kind of story.
Specially the time difference with traveling between the worlds. It’s no oscar worth, but I appreciate the effort is telling a less predictable story.
Well, although the whole season was with ups and downs, more downs to be honest, that ending is worth my attention. I'm not that much into the monsterverse, but now I'm hyping for the Godzilla vs Kong next movie.
A kickass ending. Sure, some episodes were fillers, but overall, it was a fun ride.
idc i loved it. did need more monsters
I agree to much family drama very less Godzilla and titans and without explaining much. Some times it began to show or begin saying something but someone cried and ruined the moment.
I want a 2nd season but maybe build on the upcoming Godzilla one movie and the new blockbuster and with the red King Kong
hope to see more in season 2 ,I liked the ending,so there is still hope
This series was such a disappointment. After 10 hours, we got about 12 minutes total of monster action. Watch some of the old Toho films and leave this be. Ugh.
The level of human-monsters balance was whack whack whack…but that ending…
Bad kaiju
Bad characters
Bad show with so many loose ends and useless plots… I guess people wanted more human and less monsters, but that should be called Legacy of boring siblings not monsters

It didn't make much sense but they managed to contrive a way to get a monster fight in there, so at least that's something.
