The episode is very emotional and suspenseful with many of the iconic characters and artefacts from the Arthurian legends. The scene with the Round Table and Arthur's pep talk to his handful of knights is quite moving, just like the knighting ceremony. Though I guess the characters took a lot of unnecessary risks, as they did not really have a sound plan how to defeat Morgana, they were just lucky that Merlin managed to disable the Cup with the help of Gaius. But otherwise they were taking a very high risk of being simply slaughtered so that their deeds would not even survive in a song because there would be nobody left to sing it.
Of course I am glad that they made it and achieved victory but it seemed a bit too easy, so I suspect there is a nasty surprise for them in store, I do not believe Morgana would give up so easily. She was a cruel queen but I do not think that she was a worse ruler than Uther, who killed magical people without any hesitation. Both of them committed crimes against their own people, perhaps Morgana committed fewer evil deeds simply because her reign was much shorter. She is a villain though her pain and grief when her sister fell looked genuine. All these contradictions are perhaps what makes her a compelling character.

Mildly disappointing if I’m being honest. The scene with Arthur at the round table was pretty amazing, though I was really looking forward to seeing more of the Merlin vs Morgause magic duel. It was just “Gaius saves Merlin and then Merlin knocks Morgause out”, which wasn’t the best ending imo. Otherwise, it was a fine episode and I loved Lancelot, the special appearance of Tom Hopper, and Gwaine (especially Gwaine).
