Morgana is back and even though she now turned to evil, she is still one of the most interesting characters, even at this stage she is not fully committed to the evil side. Though, taking into account Uther's past and his crimes against magical people, things are not black and white. The enemy king Cenred is definitely a looker and he is styled more like a traditional fantasy ruler than Uther or Arthur are.
Anyway, more often than not Arthur's behaviour towards Merlin is straight-forward bullying, as in this episode. He thinks he can get away with everything because he is a prince. Sometimes it is puzzling why Merlin is so loyal to him as he is frequently mistreated.
