I'm not a fan of Austin Butler's performance. It's very self conscious. He's trying to come off as cool. Like a James Dean imitation.
I have great interest in both the period and the topic. You recognize the similarities with shows like "Band of Brothers" which is a huge compliment as I see this as a very high bar. If this comes even close to that it would be a homerun on my behalf.
I was very impressed with this first part. The flying scenes are well made and I was really tense during the short battle in the skies. But I also like how the depicted the realisation from the pilots that this is not going to be a milk run and many will die before victory will come.
As soon as I saw this is from Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the creators of Band of Brothers and The Pacific, I knew this new show would be great. I was not disappointed after watching Part One. Very well done flying scenes and I already love the score. Can‘t wait to experience new episodes for the next few weeks.
Great start. It's a delight to watch these mega productions on television. Lucky for us to have Apple TV+ and a majestic budget.
Who the hell are all these people? After the first episode all I remember is Buck, bucky and the dog Meatball. Also I already hate the hell out of Bucks smugness.
really good pilot (no pun intended). superb production and CGI and the topic if you have anything to do with Air Force you will be thrilled. Even though they introduced many characters, it did not confuse or got boring.
I like it a lot.

Why only white people? Where are the black people? After all we are living in the era of wokeness. Also surprised they didn’t push gay agenda.
Foe anyone into warbirds and WWII planes in general... you'll love this!... even if it was just about how the B-17s flying experience is shown and portrayed...this feels like something written by people that gets and truly understood that special bond pilots and crew had with those piston engine flying machines.
