I never had a problem with Iron Fist the show or the character of Danny Rand, and I was perfectly happy to say it was Great with a capital G if that put more distance between me and the hateful (and racial) rhetoric that materialized when that show debuted.
I also loved Defenders, I thought it was the best possible show it could have been with all those characters as developed as they were at the time. Iron Fist was portrayed as a someone who had grown and was still learning, and that worked.
But this Danny Rand is the best by far. He looks different, he talks different, he's much more comfortable in his own skin. It retroactively exonerates all the criticism surrounding him up until now because it has become a very strong growth arc spanning three different series. He's slowly learning New York, and New York knows who he is.
Lo and behold, his appearance in this episode is understandable (the firefight at a Rand building the night before), and he actually helps accomplish something (finding a Nightshade nursery and destroying it)! Also, the way Danny tussles and picks fights with Luke is cute as hell. They're brothers now, and even Luke seems to be okay with that. But he draws the line and believing in dragons.
This crossover episode feels believable and is a welcome side quest in Luke's current mission to save Harlem.
Danny casually buying a building and the land it sits on just so he can set it on fire without having to explain why to the police is pretty funny too. "What's your super power?" "I'm rich."
If you’d told me after seeing Iron Fist that I’d find Danny Rand to be enjoyable anywhere I would’ve laughed in your face, but damn, they did him so much better here! I really enjoyed their team-up.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist might be average, but you can't deny that they make a great duo, much better than the sum of its parts. Danny was also a lot less annoying than usual. Scratch that, he was actually good. Too bad it didn't translate into epic fights. The attack on the grow house looked liked a slowed down choregraphy and not like a fight, they really failed that one. But, the punch my hands tactic was really cool.
Took a long time for Danny to realize that his real super power is to be filthy rich.
Those people talking to Luke in the beginning, what a bunch of assholes.
Mariah is turning into a total psycho, hmm, ok, better than what she was doing anyway. Probably one of her best episodes. The complete massacre plus burning Anansi alive, that was very dark in the middle of the cute banter between Danny and Luke.
But ain't she still a public figure ? So going around in plain light in the streets with her goons manhandling a hooded prisoner, that's ok ?
With all that its owners have publicly done, plus the wars and shootings happening inside, how come anyone still goes to the club ? That's crazy.
And Shades is clearly not comfortable with it, yet and again proving he's the smartest, most complex and interesting character in the show.
For once, (maybe the first time ?) Misty was not doing something totally useless or stupid ! One of her best episodes too.
That made it a way above average one (except for the fight, sadly).
Luke still does not believe in the Dragon ? Didn't he see the bones in Defenders ?
So they decide to burn the warehouse... Ok. But what about all the guys that were knocked down on the floor ?
Need a Heroes 4 Hire season ASAP!
I’m SO over Mariah talking about her family.
And I’m so over people — Danny, Claire, Luke’s father — telling Luke that he has to face all his internal issues and be at peace with himself. Luke has been ridiculously one-dimensional this whole time that it makes no sense, and their concern only comes across as super melodramatic.
It’s been a challenge making it through this season.
The writers of Luke Cage needs to be in Iron Fist. I saw first the Season 2 of Iron Fist and it's fucking boring. Then, I started Luke Cage Season 2 and watching in this episode Danny teaming up and fighting with Luke is by far more best than the whole IF S2.
I did not like the conversation between Luke and Danny in the beginning
Misty's fight with Nandi was useless. It was so stupid that Nandi used her own credit card.I mean she is a detective she should have known that they will catch her or did she want them to catch her?I'm a bit confused.
Why did Danny fight with the hood on it looked so funny.
Didn't even realized when this show becomes so dark. They burned Anansi alive and the effects were so cool (I know it was inhuman ).
Great team-up. Already feels better than the whole Defenders show.
They were right, when the boring person arrives, which is no longer a boring person, the series improves. Shades who does not put on his glasses, takes them off
Three days after Bushmaster escaped from the police van, Danny Rand shows up in Harlem to help Luke find and take down Bushmaster. Their fight scenes together were incredible! Meanwhile, Misty works to find their snitch and bring her in. (Another badass moment from Misty!) Mariah who continues to look for Bushmaster, who's nowhere to be found, goes to his restaurant with her men and have them kill everyone there.
That was definitely a better version of Danny Rand! In Iron fist and defenders I found him to be a whinny little Biach, going on and on about focusing on his god damn Chi.. great team they both make, look forward to seeing more of them together in the future!

Holy shit I can't believe it, they finally handled Iron Fist perfectly! Danny is now completely different and acts like Iron Fist in comics. He says wise/philosophical words out of nowhere. Fight was also awesome. YES!
NEED.MORE.TEAM.UP!!
