I started binge watching all seasons, starting from Season 1 that I’ve already seen back when this show started. I made my way into a few episodes of season 1. I think Season 5 has Avery interesting story arc compared to the first 4 seasons. It’s very noticeable when binge watching. I hope this continues.

Worst season of any show I’ve ever seen, should’ve cancelled the show faster.

I love AoS against all odds because I in general hate everything about SHIELD as an organization in comics, movies and even TV. But Season 5 of AoS is one of the best comic based seasons of television even with the flaws it hate on the back end. The show had a premise that was weak featured an organization I hate, and opened with bigger ideas than writing. But honestly it's pretty great as a whole and I have no trouble recommending it to anyone. But I'd be happy if they start prepping for the end properly because I don't want this to go cliffhanger to cancellation.

The first half of the season is really, really good, then it tragically falls back in the usual "not enough stuff to fill 12 episodes" problem. There's still a bunch of good episodes and great moments, though, plus the finale is spot on.

Season 5A (5x01-5x10) thoughts: For a story with such a big, grandiose premise, I've had the most difficult time staying interested in this arc. I think I've narrowed it down to the following two reasons:

  1. This has been an issue with this series from the start. In order for the "world saving" storylines to hold any weight, the viewer has to suspend his/her knowledge that the MCU movie heroes exist. When the catastrophe occurred, how could the Avengers and/or Dr. Strange not notice this happening and do something about it?

  2. Ultimately, what was the point of sending the team into the future? Wouldn't it have made more sense to give them some video, visions, or whatever of what was to happen and let them prevent the catastrophe in the present? Why make them go through all of this? If the team does their job, then organizing a successful rebellion against the Kree isn't going to happen, so the entire struggle was completely meaningless and unnecessarily risked lives?

I'm beginning to wonder if the series is being considered for non-renewal so the writers want to go out on a bang.
