Paulie was just straight up annoying with his over-the-top dramatics. To make it worse, the guy portraying him just can't act his character's emotions, so it ends up just being really flat yelling throughout the episode. Probably the worst one thus far.
This is easily the worst episode in the last two seasons. The latest episode was lazy, implausible, and took all the shortcuts. Lame. And I love the series.
