Gorgeous in theory.... I can absolutely suspend my disbelief of a giant washing ashore, but come on you're telling me there's no crowd control at all??????????????
Absolutely beautiful story telling, it was sensitive and humane.
Great season finale, awesome visuals, and the town look and feel makes me want to live in that place (with or without the giant).
There go 10 minutes of my life I will never get back. That was not a story. It was just a giant penis, literally.
Brilliant twist. Awesome graphics, almost real. Strong story.
So weird, yet such a cool thing to watch
It was the weirdest, greatest episode I've ever seen. It reminded me of Jonathan swift's Gulliver. Usually stories leave the end of story to our imagination. But this time, he's wondering before of it too.
What a beautiful, poetic story. I felt saddened by the general disrespect the Populus showed him.
A great closing chapter of the season. The message that this episode leaves us with is beastly, "What's new wows us for a while, then we sweep it all away...". It's a pity, but that's the way we are socially, and we don't even know what happened to the giant.
Like 'Zima Blue', I'm surprised we got an episode like this.
While not as good as that episode, but I respect its attempt of approaching things in a deep and philosophical way and use its animation to its full potential. A mixture of grounded reality and fantasy elements made the whole thing engrossing.
it wasn't what i was expecting but i watched it ... i didn't like it
this was uh........... very weird
Where are the robots? It is a deal-breaking for me because I'm expecting that concept, love, death, and robots in every episode.
A lot more contemplative and poetic than anything so far. Literally nothing happens and yet it's still a good story with a narrative style resembling old novels.
This story is the most human, in a show that is called "Love, Death & Robots."
First off, the animation is beautiful. Especially the backgrounds and a love for details sticks out. I also have to point out Tim Miller's ("Deaspool") fantastic direction here hat really takes you into the story.
I call this episode "human" because it perfectly shows deeply flawed and yes even downright disgusting and cruel human behavior. It shows humans as spectators and as creatures that have no regard for other forms of life unless it directly affects them.
While the giant is seemingly the focus, the episode quickly shifts to the people who have found him. There is no need to explain where the giant comes from or how he died, because that is not the important part. Important is how people react to him.
They climb on his corpse. Take selfies. Smeer it with graffiti. Eventually decide to remove body parts for several reasons. They do not care that his is has once been a living, breathing creature. In a way it is a direct reflection to the behavior humans show animals a lot of the time, only that the giant does look human (a fact emphasized by the narrator more than once). He eventually loses his human features by what people do to him another reflection of their behavior.
I wish the episode would have stopped right there instead of showing what happened to his bones. I feel like it would have had more impact that way. I am also not sure of the narrator's tone, especially towards the end. While he mostly appeared as a neutral witness the tone of his voice seemed way too positive, almost serene in the enr, which contradicts the message of this short a bit (if I interpreted this correctly, of course).
Also, are there no authorities in this world? That kept bothering me for some reason.
Beautiful episode. I loved that we only had the perspective of this one person. No concept of what the authorities or anyone else was doing or thinking. Just this one man and his observations of the phenomenon.
The extraordinary in an ordinary English town. It all felt very realistic in its absurdity.
whoever made this segment successfully made me feel so disgusted.
"
the giant(white): It was a noble face, possessed of an ornate charm that belied the brutish power of the giant’s physique.。。this giant existed in an absolute sense… providing us a glimpse into a world of similar absolutes in which we spectators on the beach were such imperfect and puny copies.------>the crowd(close-up shot of an asian & a black)

Felt like I was watching a Carl Sagan's Cosmos episode... Love It!
Would have been weirder if it was a female.
6.5/10 - I'm not sure if I really got the story but it was somewhat interesting nonetheless and I liked how it was narrated.
Anyway, the graphics where incredible! The humans and cars looked so good IMO. The grass felt like the main thing that was a bit lacking. I'd say those where the best graphics in this show so far. I really quite like that they've gone for physically based materials/rendering :)
It wasn't that photorealistic and I don't think that was the goal but it was really "beautiful".

One of the town stores has the same name as the antique shop in the_Pop Squad_ episode: Ipswitch.
