I don't think I liked how they just accepted. Also the speed of time is kidna insane.
This could have been a lot better if it weren't for the second-hand embarrassment I felt throughout for the awkward acting of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Topher Grace :grimacing:
First 20 seconds of this episode I was in awe of how incredible the animation was, pretty sure now that it aaa live action :joy:
Fun concept but under shown. Time speed is weird, and very variable, it explosion looks like it lasted for years.
The couple dialogue however are extremely useless. A bit bad that the only episode with real actors is used for this. They could have easily be replaced by mute CGI or a narrator.
A cute little short that is pretty nonsensical, but fun.
Topher Grace more-or-less unofficially reprises his role as an older Eric Foreman from That 70s Show. He's joined by Mary Elizabeth Winsted, who is basically channeling similar vibes as Donna from That 70s Show.
Like, seriously, was this written by the same people who wrote That 70s Show? The humor is even fairly similar.
Anyway, this isn't anything to write home about, but it had enough charm where I don't feel bad about recommending it. Give it a watch if you've got a spare 10 minutes.
This Ice Age episode is like a new version of The Twilight Zone episode, The Little People, which has also been Simpsonized in one of the Treehouse of Horror segments ("The Genesis Tub" in 1996) where Lisa accidentally creates life by setting her loose tooth in Buzz cola overnight as a science experiment. In this case, there's an old refrigerator where the civilization takes place in. In a similar way, the characters check their freezer from time to time to see how they've evolved. It's always been an interesting concept to me. Also, Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars in this. <3
I really want to like this for the great animation and timelapses of the tiny world.
But the acting was (unexpectedly) bad and the whole thing didn't really make sense at all. Didn't capture me really.
I have loved the concept but the acting is far worse than expected and the scripts too. It feels awful that it could be one of my favourites episodes and has just stayed in the middle of the road
The Simpsons and South Park did it better. Hell, even the Japanese did it better with Humanity Has Declined (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita).
this one should be praised on its originality
very interesting concept with some good humor
very interesting choice to have this one as a live-action with animation
What kind of monster puts that old nasty ice in anything let alone a glass of red wine?
I'm joining the probably hundreds of people who must have already said it, but... remember that episode from The Simpsons?
I mean come on, you thought it and I thought it and your grandmother thought it and the mail man thought it...
The episode is not uninteresting, being the first one to include actual live action sequences (that even make most of the episode) and only incorporating some (very well done) animation.
I also like the overall concept. Seeing the history of our world in that freezer mini-cosmos doomed to repeat the same cycle over and over again. Comparing it to other episodes however, I'm surprised it doesn't do more with the concept. It's certainly a choice to keep the leading couple relatively aloof and the potential impeding self-caused doom humanity is heading towards to as subtle as possible ...I'm just not sure if I'm a fan of it.
In the end of the day it's a concept that has been explored before and better, so to say. It's not the worst episode but certainly not q standout.
takes less than a minute for them to fully be on board with the idea :joy:
I guess that's what killed the dinosaurs.
foreman and winstead. Long time no see.

while the „lost world“ was absolutely magnificent the dialogues and the acting were horrible! I‘m not saying the concept was bad but the acting felt stiff and not commited as you would expect from these actors and the dialogues were just rubbish and pointless. The animation on the other hand was brilliant!
