Okay it was a game changer, this episode was awesome. Seeing what’s ahead after the end credits, makes you wonder what’s in store.
damn that unraveled fast af.
This show first episode was great, dealing with nihilism and reality. But, hey, don't think it too much, because Marvel wouldn't really get something as bold get to you that much. Here's your bonkers show, and nothing else.
If you missed the after credits go back and watch them !
Owen Wilson better still be alive or I riot!
Who knew this show would have the most realistic depiction of Hell: being kneed in your genitals over and over while being told you'll be alone forever. But for real: I love the twists in this. They are so good, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
OMG I-
Loki never dies!
Can't believe only 2 episodes are left :(
This show is starting to feel like live-action Rick and Morty, and that is not a bad thing. The post-credits scene especially.
[7.3/10] There’s two key ideas at play in “The Nexus Event”, and I like both of them. The first is more narrative -- the TVA is lying to its members, who have been kidnapped. The second is more character-based -- Loki fears his destiny to be alone, only to find a strange, enervating connection with Sylvie. The slow epiphany and unravelings when the institution you trusted turns out to have been lying, and the peculiar narcissism-meets-salvation of Loki finding love in a version of himself are both strong hooks for this episode.
But it’s just not quite up to snuff on a scene-to-scene basis. The dynamic between Loki and Mobius isn’t as crisp. The big action set pieces are neat enough but choppy. The screwball dialogue with Mobius and Renslayer doesn’t quite sing. Even the joke-fest where Loki gets repeatedly pummeled by none other than Sif (appearing for the first time since a 2015 cameo on Agents of Shield) gets tiresome pretty quickly. “The Nexus Event” has some good ideas, but it doesn’t quite know what to do with them.
To the point, I like the idea of Mobius getting the hint that something’s up with the TVA given Loki’s warning that they’re lying to him. But since we only have six episodes, all the unraveling happens very quickly. It goes from mild suspicion as to the death of a previous hunter to a full-blown “pruning” and destruction of the Time Keepers in no time flat. I wish we had more time for that suspicion to simmer and manifest in other ways beyond one odd conversation with Renslayer and a Wizard of Oz routine with the timekeepers. Without time for any of these ideas to truly marinate, the face turns from Mobius and B-15 don’t mean nearly as much.
I’m a little more moved by the budding connection between Loki and Sylvie. Maybe I’m just a sap, but the idea that affection and attachment between the two of them sets off the Nexus Event to end all Nexus Events is a cool and wholesome idea. I appreciate that we get to learn a little more about Sylvie’s backstory, an orphan girl stolen away without notice or resource, forced to survive on her own, a victim of the TVA. The way that Loki sees a kindred spirit in her is a little weird, but at the same time, who else would a narcissist like Loki find as a soulmate but another Loki?
I don’t really know what to make of the “The Timekeepers are just androids” twist. Or the “Renslayer’s been in on it all along” twist. Or the “Pruning just sends you to another timeline/place/dimension” twist. Frankly, Loki is throwing out all these twists a little too fast and furiously for it to matter.
But the ideas are strong, and the main characters still have something to them, which is enough to keep me on board for the final third of the series.
It was pretty nice but I just can’t stand that they solved the timeline chaos (Ep.2 devastating finale) just like that, in the blink of an eye without explaining anything. Why did Sylvie even do that bombing, after years of planning?! I just hope they’ll explain more.
If you can't have enough of Loki, this is the episode to watch.
Okay, this show is officially the best one out of the three series.
SCORE: 8/10
Wow wow WOW. The first 2 episodes i didn't have much to say other than being excited for more. Episode 3 was something, but this one. Nexus Event.
ok, so i would like to say that i feel sorry that i don't think Sylvie is perfect. honestly i think it's mostly her appearance, the short wavy blonde hair, maybe the way she holds herself, maybe it's even the accent... but i really try to just focus on the aspects of her than make her a Loki. so in episode 3, yes we do get real connection between Loki and Sylvie, and yes it could have been partially romantic, but i was sure it was just connecting due to being one in the same. so the scene here where the hold hands before the apocalypse is just confusing? maybe just strange, since Mobius does a good job of explaining how of course Loki is so narcissistic he falls for himself. i guess giving Loki vulnerability is the intention here, but somehow it felt out of character for Loki to be so caught up about someone who isn't him, even if it kind of is him in a way?
ugh. one thing i could talk about from the first 2 episodes is how much I love the Loki/Mobius dynamic. (no I'm not a shipper). the conversations and jabs were glorious. so i really had to take a step back during the conversation they have where Mobius realizes Loki is attached to Sylvie and Mobius is done with him... and then later on in the episode they step back together as friends... just felt like being thrown around.
i gasped when they pruned Mobius and cried at Loki's reaction. the time lizards were so rediculous and obviously fake, especially with all the haze. loved a fight sequence with Loki and Sylvie back to back. and even though I wasn't really on board with the romantic relationship part, i really wanted that kiss to happen with that build up Loki had...
when i tell you i was so excited to see a snake with a crown and more Lokis! ugh I'm hyped!
Absolutely awesome! Things are getting real now :)
Some meaningful/deep lines as well. I was heartbroken when Mobius got pruned just like that. So glad that Loki got pruned in this episode as well. Now, I'm quite sure that pruning isn't final :)
LOL xD Seconds after I finished the previous sentence the mid credits scene appeared so now I can be absolutely sure and sleep well <3 :D
Now, I'm just hoping that this show won't be the last we'll see of Loki / Tom Hiddleston. I really like both the character and actor!
question, how do you embarrass, humiliate and emasculate a once beloved character in just 1 episode?
answer, have him punched in the face and kneed in the groin over and over by Sif because Marvel thinks it's funny
Lots of good meat to chew on here. Ever since the beginning of phase 3, the MCU feels to finally be embracing the genre roots of being a massive interconnected universe in the tone of comics. This show, in many ways, feels like a high point in the camp and zaniness that comic canon struggled with. Here it’s used extremely well. The soundtrack in particular just helps sell everything—like some schlocky b-movie, theremin included.
I mean, considering this is the introduction of the multiverse in the MCU it needed to be strong, but I’m impressed with how we feel like we’re leveling up with each successive Marvel show. My intrigued is supremely piqued with each new episode. Tremendous.
After watching post credit scens- Once deleted, everything goes to recycle bin
For me it was the best episode in all MCU shows, and one of the best ever
I think The Nexus Event is what ultimately pushes this show into one of Marvel's absolute finest outings for me - which is something I've said about both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with their respective "gamechanger" episodes. And I will stand by all three of them - these recent batches of MCU fare have been some of their best work, mainly for actively challenging the status quo within their universe while also diving into more complex, interesting ideas. And with this episode, all doors are down as we are now headed fully into multiverse territory in a way never thought possible - that mid-credits scene is everything.
And outside of that, it's also a wonderful look into both Loki and Sylvie as characters. Their chemistry is infectious, and the surreal decision that they make regarding their relationship here is just weird enough to work while also feeling so in character for Loki (he is a narcissist after all). And everything with Mobius continues to be a treat as Owen Wilson steals the show here. Fantastic stuff once again.
Definitely an improvement over last week's muddled and (mostly) boring mess. I like how this episode managed to answer/tell more about Sylvie than last week's episode that centered around Sylvie did. Last week also had a lack of Owen Wilson, which this episode did not. Coincidence? I think not.
Owen Wilson is excellent. Let’s hope he is in more than just 3 episodes.
Seems to be one of the best episodes from Marvel shows so far!
I literally was dead inside until I saw the after-credits scene.
Its frustrating because it's has all the makings of being good but it's not. I've posted the same comment 4 episodes in a row, so the question is really why am I still watching it... The script badly needs a pruning and rethinking. Like the scene with b-15 in the rain is probably the best one because it's mostly showed. The "twists" are so clichéd
There is an after scene, so don't miss it!
A lot more plot driven than what we had until now. Things do happen, fast.
Fun but classical use of the time loop for torturing Loki, always nice to see Sif.
The Time Keepers were greatly disappointing. I mean, yeah, of course they are not the god like super powerful beings we were led to believe, they are just cheap puppet androids. But they DO look exactly like just cheap androids. There could have been a bit more effort put into them, if not for us, at least for the TVA agents that were supposed to follow them.
Mobius was a lot of the charm of the show, hoping he's not really disappeared.
I really though for a while that Loki was really gone and the show would go on with Sylvie, that could have been a great direction to take. If we can have several versions of Loki, is there a point with sticking with the one we know ? I guess it's more bankable.
Anyway, this opens the doors for a lot of fun stuff. After all we've been told that Loki has the more variants of anyone in the whole timeline. As is classical with stories dealing with time travel, I highly suspect that this does not come from Loki's nature, even if that's what they want us to think, but is rather due to his involvement with the TVA via a chicken/egg paradox.
Marvel shows seems so much cooler than Marvel movies. I’m keen to see where they take this
So they love each other (or themselves?) very much that their love created a nexus event? That’s cheesy and selfcest.
Loki’s hell is being kicked in the balls by Lady Siff, my hell is Loki and Mobious in a room talking about stuff they already talked about in every episode. HELL.
Sylvie’s backstory is cool, she is cool, but the problem is that she’s so cool this kinda isn’t Loki’s show anymore, it’s like Lokylvie’s adventures through the apocalypse. And i'ts like this is Sylvie's world and we are just living in it.
This episode trumped all the others! I can't wait for the next one! But, the Loki emotions towards Sylvie Loki, the Loki variants, and the TVA reveals throughout the episode had this therapist eagerly analyzing the entire episode!
the best yet!
watched with TheMysticWood and BoggartQueen on 4th of July night
THAT POST CREDITS SCENE THO!!!!
OMG WHATS HAPPENING IM SHOCKED AND SO DISAPPOINTED BUT CURIOUS as well :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:
A good chapter, lamentis was really meh but this one had a lot of action and plot twists.
Ugh I just think it could have been so much better. I like the direction, but it’s just pretty rough around the edges for me.
DAMNNNN. Just when I thought this show couldn't be anymore mind-blowing... BAM!!!
Best Disney made mcu episode yet!
Well, this took a turn.. Overall a great ep, still can't wrap my ahead that there's only 2 episode, let's just hope they pace it nicely.
Clearly inspired by The Last Jedi. And like 50 of my other favourite things. This show is an absolute treat.
It has a post-credit scene!!! Best episode so far.

Was gonna rate this like a 4 or 5 because of the last scene as it ruined for me the whole amazing episode, then I read it has a post credits scene and oh boy did that make it for me. Great episode, worth the watch, and definitely worth the wait for post credits.
