I liked these last 2 episodes, even though my heart was so nervous and played with.
But i think the romance between Luther and Lois was a mistake. It sours a bit the second half of the season, and betrays both the characters of Lois and Luthor, in my view. What's worse, is that in these 2 episodes it makes their whole romance of the season feel rushed. Not to mention, kind of confusing behavior for Lois for being "completely" in love with Superman, but then almost marrying Lex the next second, even though she doesn't love him. Plus, her being with the villain and then him being revealed as a villain to the world makes her look more like a fool, that's what i mean about betraying her character a bit, and also Luthor falling for her.
It was quite sad to see Clark confess his feelings and get rejected like that. Then watching Lex and Lois have a romance? Jeez, that's harsh.
Though i don't like the plotline, i thought it ended well enough. And least Lois was the one to choose not to marry Luthor, and not Superman busting in to ruin the wedding, though that would have been nice too.
Overall though, it's been a very good and surprising season. It is consistently good and just surprising in how high quality the writing actually is. Though i love the more cosmic aspects of Superman and the fantastical supervillains, i still like the small scale established here, and the central plotline of the relationship between Lois and Clark, and their reporting adventures. I've really liked their developing relationship.
