Stabler!! Return of the prodigal son indeed. I'm surprised there's no comments on this episode, seeing as people were remarking about Elliot's hinted-at return just in the previous episode's comments. Cop shows always do the 'run into your old partner' trope (SVU itself has done it multiple times), but it's never very meaningful, because it's the first time that character will have appeared in the show, and the actors have no true rapport. But this is real - this actually does have the history behind it, and the audience knows it's real, too. It's pretty awesome. Dickie looks so goddamn different with that beard. It's cool that it's the same actor that played him as a child.
I know this episode leads into Organized Crime, and its main purpose is to get that show on the road. But it makes no sense that Special Victims Unit would be allowed to investigate this bombing. It has absolutely nothing to do with SVU.
I'd definitely go and begin watching OC, but S1 is only on DirecTV. What's up with that bullshit?
