8.7/10. So damn funny and even a little sweet. I just love the reversal of patriotic, ever-trusting Hank getting fed up with the government due to his regulatory nightmares involving his misprinted license, and conspiracy nut, anti-government wackjob Dale turning into a jingoistic "love it or leave it" shirt wearing cheerleader after discovering that the Warren Report adds up.
There's so many things to love about this one. First, just the sheer hilarity of seeing Hank and Dale switch roles to some degree is great. But more than that, I love how no matter whether Dale is a conspiracy nut or a patriot, he can't do anything and half-speed, and so still just goes whole hog cuckoo, just in a different direction. I love his breakdown, itself a nice parody of conspiracy thrillers where the thing freaking him out is how everything actually makes sense. I love the jabs at Hank for having a license that says he's female, with the peak of it being his nomination for a "Texas Propanewoman of the Year Award."
And I love the ending, where Dale's appreciation for Hank is enough to cut through his wide-eyed blind faith in the government, and let's face it, his craziness, to back up his friend. It's a nice signifier that Hank is someone who can get past even Dale's mania when it's needed most. A great late-season episode from the show.
