I'm enjoying this anime, but as an avid viewer of climbing competitions, I'm a bit disappointed with the portrayal of sport climbing here. Sport climbing is a really collaborative, supportive sport, where even competitors from different countries bond and form friendships. That could have created a really heartwarming, slice-of-life story for this anime that would give a unique spin on the genre. Instead, it's a pretty run-of-the-mill generic sports anime, where other competitors are usually, rather predictably, fake-nice, but actually Big Evil Villains:tm: to be defeated.
