[8.7/10] Another excellent episode. I love how this one both played Mac and Dennis’s co-dependency straight, but also for sheer comic lunacy. It’s a great character-based episode, with both Mac and Dennis’s reactions to the break-up making up the spine of the episode. Mac as the somewhat overbearing partner, and Dennis as the one who feels suffocated but needs to be taken care of fits really well for the duo.
And the other folks’ reactions to it all are great too. For one thing, the crazy problem of Dee’s cat being stuck in the wall is a fun set piece. And Charlie and Frank being so much on the same page, with their weird dance and insane ideas is another testament to the destructive but self-sustaining other codependency on the show. Everyone’s annoyance at Mac and Dennis’s break-up, and the terribleness evident in their reconciliation is just top notch. Another stand out.
