[5.8/10] This one didn’t really work for me. I can appreciate the usual clockwork nature of the writing, where the tape Charlie was smashing was The Waitress’s sex tape with Frank, which is what The Waitress is after and why she says she’ll sleep with Mac, which starts this whole thing in motion. And I can appreciate the physical comedy of Mac landing in the streets and his firecrackers going off when he’s face down on the pavement.
But the episode was definitely missing a certain spark without Dee and Frank in the picture. Plus, the characters were even bigger idiots than usual, with a lot of contrived, unbelievable scenarios concocted to get all the misunderstandings and misadventures where they needed to be. Plus the laughs just weren’t there. Overall, certainly a weaker outing.
