Meh. Wasn't as good as they thought it would be.

[5.4/10] A clever idea done poorly. I always admire ambition and format-bending in a series, and doing an entire episode from behind Frank’s eyes definitely fits. But IASIP can’t get much out of that idea beyond the novelty of it.

We get a few minor insights into Frank, like the idea that he text messages with Bill Ponderosa regularly, that he doesn't really understand the Gang’s plans or even know his own son’s name, but just sort of bumbles his way into success from time to time, and that he’s more a jumble of thoughts and impulses than a fully cognizant human being.

Still, all that “Being Frank” can get out of the setup is a boatload of generic grossout humor, some tired raunch, and an assortment of reheated suicide and/or psychedelic gags. There’s not a lot of laughs or a lot of insights into Frank from being inside his head, which makes this one turn out to be a lost opportunity instead of an impressive and uproarious wing-spreading like “Charlie Work” was.

Overall, a weak episode made weaker by its obvious chance to do something different and interesting.

Kind of a letdown for this episode, season 11 just isn't as funny as priors.

Great idea, i really love how they always find new ways to keep this series interesting, but this episode could have been funnier.
