But what happened to Arthur?

7.3/10. Solid episode that worked because of the fun of its premise--everyone trying to quit and then take up smoking, replete with the kids's shocked reactions--rather than because of the comedy, which was weaker here. Again, how you take someone ask comedically and dramatically talented as Bob Odenkirk and turn him into a sort of generic corporate boss guy, with broad characteristics and few laughs is almost impressive in the way it wastes his abilities.

By the same token, the story between Robin and Don about the former being young and hungry and the latter being washed up and unambitious had some good beats, especially at the end where the gang called in (with the stories dovetailing nicely in how the nicotine cravings kept them up late enough to watch) to prevent Robin from giving in and giving up. But at the same time, the Don stuff was generally off. Even the smoking humor, which provided the most laughs of the episode, was pretty hacky at times. There was some good stuff in this one, but a lot of the cracks were showing as well.
