Lily wanting to get married in this very episode only to change her mind, for a second time, is the lamest thing I've ever seen.
Pretty fun episode featuring a caper that the whole gang could get involved in. The problem was that the meat of the story--Lily wanting to elope as an alternative to having to stand and be judged by Marshall's extended family--was hammered home repeatedly and pretty clumsily as well. The little reminders about their having been apart keep popping up, and Lily in particular just seems more extreme about the whole thing than she usually is. The cold open with their getting reengaged was cute, but the story's execution was a little forced after that.
The B-stories, including Ted's attraction to Robin's bikini shirt and Barney's Chinese gambling addiction were each very slight, but also the most fun part of the episode. Which was in keeping with this episode's quality of having some good laughs here and there, but not much of a backbone to build on.
