honestly i rarely notice Garrett; i have no aversion to the actor or his character, but because the protagonists here have a unique and meticulous development, absorbing the viewer's attention throughout this game. But in this particular episode, Garrett's development caught my eye; in the daytime scenes we can perceive a president in exile, who witnessed the exodus of people close to him from this plot, but who at the same time romanticized this process due to Frank's manipulation, and then we witness up close an apathetic and cold Garrett, as if he had sleepless nights on the edge of anxiety, hopelessness and paranoia; but the night scenes, with his wife, are even more bittersweet, as you find him paler and lost, and the lack of light in the room mixes the almost cadaverous tone of his body, that highlights the deep marks of insomnia on hisface, with the aged and lifeless walls. He is no longer a president with an impetus fueled by ideas and pragmatism; he is a feeble and weak man, out of control of his own presidency and of the other characters that orbit around him, finding peace only in who, in certain aspects, has been more unharmed, and most importantly, the only person who so far believes in him: his wife.
