Every scene with Carrie was annoying and felt very pointless.

But the escalation at the end was great.
Clearly shows what a scumbag O'Keefe is and that he isn't any better than those he criticizes.
It also picks up the current American situation with the presidency and the media quite nicely.
Fake news, or as the preview says, informational warfare is what that is and shows clearly, how dangerous that is.

Reading "ds1's" review (and agreeing with it) I came to realize that Carrie might just be the weakest link throughout this whole show. I'm not talking about the actress, the performance or anything of that... - Claire Danes is great in her role and I enjoy her very much - but the character of Carry Mathison itself. The first two season I watched cause of Brody, subsequently I watched for Saul and Quinn and even the tech-guy whose name I just can't remember and now O'Keefe. But Carrie? She's a nuissance more then she's a big player in the show and though everything seems to revolve around her it, maybe, doesn't revolve around her at all.

The ending scene is amazing though and the choice of not showing the violence (up to the extreme tilt in camera when Saul's on the phone with the president) impacts the whole scene even more. It's with scenes like this you wished you could immediately see what follows.

Quality setpiece. Classic, powerful Homeland.

I stop the episode again BECAUSE how is it even possible to shot JJ, go to help him in an open environment with some other FBI covering you and get surprised and caught by this local gun-lovers, that also apparently run faster than a dog and a fit teenager??
Come on Homeland...
