I will say, it seems that the writing quality has increased, and maybe the performances too. Good jokes on paper are only half of comedy; you have to deliver them properly for maximum laughs. The cast and crew of this show got a lot of practice over the preceding four seasons, and it shows. Even if an episode's premise falls flat, the humor can usually carry a good chunk of it.
