I realized that Alucard/Dracula wanted Alexander Anderson to kill him, and thought that he felt disappointed that Alexander turned himself into a monster. Not only did he lose the opportunity to finally be defeated and killed, Alexander actually chose to give up his humanity. Alucard killing him after this felt like an even more selfless act of kindness because of this; he delivered the death he wanted for himself to spare Alexander an eternity of yearning for it.

I really thought that there was no way that Walter would betray them sooner or later because that would be too corny, but no. Here I am crying and screaming.
