I knew Spoon wasn't just Spoon! I knew it!
The downside of a teen heavy show is you have to find decent actors for the parts. Both Rachel and the other trafficked girl were terrible. The writing is so basic and unnatural for teens too. Is the original book like this too? Also how pretentious is it to have the authors name as part of the title.
Also I'm not usually one to complain about weak plots but why the fuck didn't they call the cops about a known club with trafficked women?
So Mickey gets found, and everyone goes on a mission without him. And just about everyone experiences Loss.
Welp kind of a lazy prophecy but I guess we know what name is going on that spot on Spoon's arm. Shira is driving her self weird trying to understand what's going on. Troy is making stabs in the dark to save his family that's already broken and the crew gets a new formalized member while finally "taking it home" on the mission. It has everything you could want with minimal teenage cringe.
The ending felt emotionally awful because we were finally getting some of the secrets out on the table. Dang it.
There are some interesting tidbits here. Of all the underage traffick-sex club scenes the one with Spoon dropping in is the one that the most screamed to me "wait they should be nude here but this is a show for teens so they're wearing 'sexy outfits' instead". It just clicked that's what was wrong with these clubs scenes. They're so clearly supposed to be unwilling sex workers in the seediest of locations and everyone is dressed like it's beach day at high school. Also that final scene means we know a little bit about the "loss" that Spoon suffered previously.

Extremely boring episode, could not sit through. Not sure whether final episode will provide any relief!
