According to production number, this should probably have aired as episode 21 of season 2.

The differences between Aired Order and DVD Order come to a head right here: "KickBall 2: The Kickening" was broadcast as episode 3x10 to fill a gap in production during the third season's twice-weekly release cadence, after it was inexplicably held from airing in its intended slot as episode 2x21 (which is where Netflix and Hulu have it, for anyone having trouble navigating those services).

This was possibly in the running to be the second season finale, too. Tonally, it would work there—but I don't remember enough about the actual S2 finale to say whether this would have been a better one.

Also worth noting: The dialogue was fairly heavily modified at some point, either between captioning and broadcast or between broadcast and DVD/streaming release. Netflix has numerous lines in the subtitles that aren't present, or are present only in shortened form, in the English audio track.
