Didn't dawn on me until the latter half of this ep that it's already the season's end. This season is really a step-up from the already very good first, and this lovely finale culminates both leads' journey wonderfully.
- "Do you know how old you're gonna be when I'm 109?"
- "Please don't make me do math right now."
I cried, this show is just so good. I need a season 3
My God I'm sad I don't want this be the end
Jimmy gave the performance of a life time with the “he’s okay!”
The one thing I didn’t like was Deborah’s outfit for the special, too dark when it should be about celebration.
"Why are you standing so far away?"
"... Just to be out of slapping range."
- The face Paul W. Downs makes when saying, "No. Dead. Absolutely dead.":rofl::rofl:
- Debra and DJ—I teared up
- "There is a risk, obviously, supporting an elderly messy bitch comedian. But enough about Bill Maher."
- Noooo :sob::sob::sob: such a sad breakup scene... I was waiting the whole episode for something bad to happen because of course the season needs to end on a bad note
Though honestly I'm not sure who's more right, Deborah or Ava. Just shows how good the writing and performances are.
The shock when no 'next episode' popped up was equal to the left and right gutpunches that felt like the pressed 2 or 3 episodes together. Insane rush, some plotlines were hard to remember because they happened too long ago, some where too fresh to sink in, but otherwise a really strong ending to a good, but abruptly ended season. Kudos for Jimmy, I hope the dead guy doesn't come back to haunt him!
