I was somewhat shocked when I started to turn this in and saw the netflix logo - I disliked many of their original productions. Luckily, this wasn't one of them (plus just the licensing got bought it seems)!
Anyway, this is an anime about scammers doing genius jobs, and the anime is divided into multi-episodes cases, that are mostly disconnected with each other. You can think Detective Conan/Case Closed or Black Lagoon.
I think it gets quite a lot of things right: The animation of scenes or talks aren't too long nor too short, the cases in themselves are pretty exciting, just like the animes above, and you really wonder how they are going to pull it off - especially when things don't go their way!
While it is M-rated, it is not really bloody much, but does feature adult themes like drug trafficking.
Fun fact: Given some comments of him, it seems that Laurent is sexually playful or indeed bisexual.
Be like: Catch me if you can (Live-action), Dr. Stone (planning in advance of actions), Ocean's insert-number (live-action, not watched, but I should have gotten the idea about it), Detective Conan/Case Closed (from the opposing side, so maybe

It's okay. The writing is decently clever, but the characterer are super boring.
Amazing anime, it is most of the things I wanted to see in a anime version of the Leverage series.
Supposedly Japan’s greatest swindler, you can't be that great if you let your emotions rule you like it does Makoto. I know it's a Japanese trope that Japanese men are more emotional but there's a time and place. the writer of this series should have read the series "Black Swindler" which is also about a Japanese con man who doesn't fall into that trope.
Twas nice to watch!! Lighthearted swindling anime that makes u feel amused. Kinda lame at the start when they speak in english though. Good thing they switched it back to japanese for the rest of the series. Cant wait for Laurent’s backstory at the 2nd season!!

Wow this Anime took me by surprise! To be honest, it reminded a lot of an American show called Leverage. That series was what first made me love the tricks and twists that a good show about con artistry and grifting is really about. The first season was fantastic, light-hearted and hilarious right when it needed to be.
But right when I thought I had the show figured out, season 2 changed things up. Suddenly there were some deep and dramatic themes, the ideas of learning from your history and moving on from traumatic life experiences. There was so much behind each character's motivation, and all along, the viewer needs to decipher truth from fiction!
Despite the Netflix tag attached, this has easily become one of my favorites. I will say that it feels slightly less like the Anime you might be used to, but personally I think that is less because of the Netflix puppetry, and more because this show is truly designed for an international audience.
Amazing show, I would highly recommend it.
