It's interesting that one of the other commenters thought this episode was more dramatic than other episodes and had no laughs but I thought it was one of the more silly stories and a had a couple of the few little laughs I have gotten from this whole series which has worked better as a slightly endearing drama than a comedy.
I also thought that Odessa Zion Segall Adlon played the cliched prom girl Stephanie quite well and yet another commenter was annoyed that they didn't get a real teenager (Odessa was probably about 21 when this was made). I felt sorry for her being rejected by Trevor because she was too young, even though she's technically 53. That mean's she will be a teenager forever and never have the chance to mature and find love. Of course, if she died at 13 and had been dead for 100 years it would still seem wrong. That is one of those peculiar aspects of this shows premise where the ghosts seem largely incapable of developing their personalities in any real way, except for some things such as Hetty adopting some basic feminist values. Stephanie on the other hand sleeps most of the year so I guess for her specifically it's easier to understand that she never changes
Story wise I didn't think it was the strongest episode but as said, I got a couple of laughs out of it. Now if they can just pull everything together the show could be quite good.
Really? They do not have any teenage actress in whole USA?
An alright episode that feels more like a drama then a comedy to me (which doesn't bother me). No laugh out loud moments (or anything overly funny at all). The actors seem to be settling into their roles and becoming more subtle in their acting. I kinda hope this continues and they lean into their storytelling format more as it will set it apart from the UK version which can be more about the characters. This story followed a normal US sitcom format and while nothing stood out to me I did find it enjoyable. Potential to surpass the UK version with deeper stories here especially if they learn to avoid using the same jokes all the time.
