Ghosts: Season 1

1x11 Sam's Mom

Love that Nancy character. Hope she's around for a bit.

Not understanding the love affair with Alberta again, first the crazy fan and now Pete. Comparing Pete's wife Carol I'm not getting the attraction.

Oh, that ending scene was so sweet!

But I do agree w/ the other comment here, that because the writers didn't hint at it whatsoever in the previous episodes, Pete suddenly saying he's liked Alberta this entire time just feels like a convenient plot device. Surely they could've done something else entirely for the B plot of this episode, but I do like Nancy as a character.

It's also very fun to watch Rachael Harris as well, after seeing her most recently as Linda from Lucifer - they're completely different characters, love seeing that range!

Quite a few bits to like in this episode such as Nancy and the sucked off line finally landing after being belaboured in previous episodes. The episode still suffers from the rushed plot turns where people suddenly have a change of heart for seemingly no reason - Pete suddenly liking Nancy, Jay putting the remote in a drawer even though he knows how much the ghosts love tv (when would he ever need to put the remote away) and when Sam comes back into the restaurant she conveniently starts talking to Peggy Sue, who tells her how much her mother talks about her. Then the whole cliched scene plays out with Sam surprised to find out that her mother actually does care. At this juncture everything is resolved and the mother gets sucked off
